What is gokigen japanese? Who is it for?

gokigen japanese is a platform that provides a fully online, systematic and authentic Japanese learning experience.

It is mainly designed for those who are interested in Japanese cultural content (manga/anime/drama) and want to engage with the language more deeply. At gokigen japanese, you can learn conversational, casual and authentic Japanese with our native Japanese tutors.

All your learning will happen online, so it is perfectly suitable for busy working learners, too.

We have our own tutors, curriculum, lesson slides and self-study materials to support your learning. Our learning content serves every student level, from complete beginner through intermediate to advanced learners.

How do I learn Japanese at gokigen japanese?

Your learning will consist of two parts - 1-on-1 lessons and self-study.

In the 1-on-1 lessons, our tutors will lead you through the key grammar points of Japanese. Each lesson is 50 minutes long, and each time you will learn a few new grammar points and practice speaking with your tutor.

You can also utilize our self-study materials to support your learning: pre-study videos and homework. Pre-study videos help you learn the key points prior to each lesson so that you can focus more on practicing rather than comprehension during the lesson.

After your lesson, you can try the homework. Homework gives you a chance to review what you have just learned and to express more things using it.

What type of lessons do you offer? Conversation? Grammar? JLPT?

We offer three types of lessons: Grammar & Conversation, Article lessons, and Free Conversation.

Grammar & Conversation lessons focus on the basic grammatical points of Japanese and engaging in conversation using them. It is suited for those who are relatively new to the language and want to solidify their basic grammar knowledge.

Once you have some understanding of basic grammar and want more output opportunities, try Article lessons. In these lessons, you will read short articles that match your level and engage in more free-style, active conversations with our tutors.
